Project description

The aim of the project was to demonstrate state-of-the-art technology and methodological approaches that will improve the compatibility of wind farm development and operation with the biodiversity conservation goals set by the EU. As part of this project, specifications and guidelines were developed to assist Greek authorities and wind farm developers in the effective planning, implementation, and regular performance evaluation of mitigation technologies for the impacts of wind farms on biodiversity. Their application ensures that biodiversity conservation objectives are met in accordance with the relevant requirements of Community and National Legislation.
