Special Environmental Assessments for the onshore and offshore sections of the Eastern Mediterranean (EastMed) Natural Gas Interconnector Pipeline

Special Environmental Assessments were prepared for the land and sea section of the Eastern Mediterranean (EastMed) Natural Gas Interconnection Pipeline for the Special Protection Zones: GR2540007, GR2110004, GR2310015, the Special Conservation Zones GR2540001, GR2110001, GR2310009, GR2310 001 and the Special Protection Zone and Special Conservation Zone GR2330002.

In the terrestrial part, specialized fieldwork was carried out on flora, habitat types, species of birds, reptiles, chiroptera and invertebrates, as well as the Wolf and the Otter. In addition to the conventional visual recordings, automatic recording cameras, bioacoustics were installed, while a drone was used.

In the marine section, specialized field work was carried out for marine mammals and seabirds with records from land and sea, while visits were made to known seabird colonies in adjacent areas.
