NCC undertakes species and habitat monitoring programs to record, monitor and assess the conservation status of species and habitats. The company designs and implements specialized scientific research programs that include systematic fieldwork on land and at sea.

All studies and surveys are adapted to the needs and specificities of the monitored objects, such as birds, invertebrates, reptiles, mammals and flora.

The aim is to support management actions in protected areas in Greece by collecting and evaluating reliable scientific data that contribute to assessing the conservation status and management needs of the monitored objects.

NCC is actively involved in the European Union’s LIFE programs as well as in specialized actions for the management of Natura 2000 network areas, drawing on the many years of expertise and experience of its staff in the field of biodiversity studies.

The company undertakes the integrated planning and submission of proposals, and contributes to the implementation of the programs, focusing on the implementation of the European Directives for the protection of wild birds and natural habitats.

To date, the company’s executives have participated in the implementation and coordination of more than 15 such programs, including the largest LIFE-Nature programs ever carried out in Greece.

NCC is active in the field of preparing Special Environmental Assessments (SEAs) and Action Plans for the protection and management of the natural environment.

The company undertakes Special Environmental Assessments, Site and Species Management Plans, as well as Biodiversity Action Plans, Environmental Restoration Studies and Power Line Sensitivity Mapping.

Through the preparation of these studies and the implementation of specialized programs, NCC actively participates in the planning of sustainable management of protected areas in our country and in the effort to preserve Greek nature and biodiversity.
