Graham White is a freelance consultant ecologist with recent work for Wildlife Trusts, the National Trust, Birdlife partners and RSPB, working on management planning, visitor experience on nature reserves, and habitat creation and restoration.
He used to be Head of Ecology at RSPB. He oversaw the ecological delivery of 150,000 ha of reserves in the UK, including close involvement in the design, creation and management of numerous key wetland nature reserves such as Wallasea Island 740 ha, Ouse Fen 400 ha, Minsmere 1000 ha, Frampton Marsh 200 ha and Ham Wall 300 ha.
International projects included notably a six-year project in China involving the creation of a 2500ha reserve and involvement in wider Yellow Sea conservation (returning this year for a review). This included experience of managing Gei Wai systems for wading birds and fisheries, and the replication of such a system in the UK at Wallasea island.

Survey of breeding Redshank on Norfolk saltmarshes (paper published).
Two-year project over-seeing Hydrological and Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Akrotiri Peninsula in Cyprus for Birdlife Cyprus, mainly involving salt lake and marsh habitats.
Advice and design work for wetland restoration in the Evros Delta, Greece, specifically for Lesser White-fronted Goose
Advice on creating wader feeding and roosting habitat in the Philippines.
Assessment of the future prospects for Eurasian Bittern in the UK, including audits of the top 30 reedbed sites (paper published).
