Demonstration of good practices to mitigate the impact of Wind Farms on the biodiversity of Greece (LIFE12 BIO/GR/000554)

The aim of the project was to demonstrate state-of-the-art technology and methodological approaches that will improve the compatibility of the development and operation of wind farms with the biodiversity conservation targets set by the EU. The project developed specifications and guidelines that can support state authorities and operators of wind farms in the effective design, implementation, and regular performance evaluation of wind farm mitigation technologies for biodiversity. Their implementation ensures that biodiversity conservation objectives are met in accordance with the relevant requirements of Community and national legislation.
