Special Ecological Assessments have been prepared for the onshore and offshore sections of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Transmission Pipeline (EastMed) for the Special Protection Areas GR2540007, GR2110004, GR2310015, the Special Conservation Areas GR2540001, GR2110001, GR2310009, GR2310001 and the Special Protection Area and Special Conservation Area GR2330002.

In the context of this study:

In the terrestrial area of the project, specialized fieldwork was carried out to record the flora, habitat types, avifauna, herpetofauna, arthropods and invertebrates, as well as to monitor the presence of Wolf and Otter. In addition to conventional visual surveys, recordings were made by automatic cameras, bio-acoustic and drones.

In the marine area of the project, specialised fieldwork was carried out from land and sea to record marine mammals and seabirds, as well as to monitor known seabird colonies in adjacent areas.
