Thomas Daftsios

field researcher, specialization in snakes

Ph.D. candidate, Biology Department, Aristotle Univeristy of Thessaloniki

He is a graduate of the Biology Department at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a current Ph.D. candidate, focusing on the conservation of Greece’s endangered viper species, Vipera graeca and Macrovipera schweizeri. His research combines molecular ecology, population genomics, thermal biology, and venomics, contributing to a deeper understanding of these species’ biology and to their demystification. He also holds a BSc in Political Science and a Master in Business Administration. This allows for a broader perspective on biodiversity conservation, linking scientific research with policy and management.
