Appropriate Assessments were carried out for all existing high and extra-high voltage transmission lines of ADMIE, whose installation had not received a previous environmental permit for the geographical areas of (a) Macedonia and Thrace, (b) Attica, Islands and Crete and (c) Peloponnese and Western Greece. In addition, Special Ecological Assessments were also carried out for five (5) substations of the Network in the framework of Standard Environmental Commitments.

As part of the study, a sensitivity mapping exercise was carried out to identify the most vulnerable sections of the network to bird and handfly impact. The mapping took into account all the information available at national level on the habitat and movement corridors of large wind-borne birds and on the nesting areas of important species, while taking into account a number of other parameters. Finally, on the basis of the sensitivity mapping, but also on the basis of more specific additional data, specific mitigation measures were proposed and their implementation points.
