The unique biodiversity of the Dodecanese

Creating suitable nesting conditions in the rocky shores of the Dodecanese where the Black-backed Gull(Falco eleonorae) and seabirds nest and breed. The aim of the action is the placement of wooden and stone nests on the rocky islets of the archipelago between Rhodes and Halki and on those of Kasos, so that the population of Mavropetritis can cope with the difficult conditions of the summer fires that it now faces due to climate change. The long journeys of Vaius

Vaios, the Spiraeus, to whom we placed a satellite transmitter in the spring of 2021 in the framework of LIFE Bonelli East Med in Andros, proved to be a tireless traveller! Since leaving Andros he has travelled over 24,000 kilometres, has passed through 21 countries and has chosen France to spend the winter for two consecutive years!
